From the Vault: I am spending Thanksgiving alone. My brother and his wife did not me this year. My mom died earlier this year and I was appointed executor of her estate. Since then, my brother and my sister-in-law have accused me of stealing from the estate, intentionally delaying the probate process, and not giving them ‘their share’. All I have done is to follow what my attorney has told me to do. In a way, I wish I had told my mom I could not serve as her executor because I never wanted the amount of backlash it has created. And the worst part is I really miss her.
