My dad unequivocally was a bad guy. He stole money from people and destroyed their retirements. His name is not a household name like that of Bernie Madoff but it would be recognized in some conversations. He died a few years ago and somehow our family received an inheritance albeit it would have been larger if not for the lawyer fees for his criminal defense and restitution to his victims. I have despised this wealth and have found every conceivable way to spend it or give it away. Last week my financial advisor called me and told me there is not much left.
