It is officially Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday, and Black Friday! Today is the part of the charitable giving movement where individuals and corporations give back to their favorite causes. On this #givingtuesday, I am highlighting The Dinner Party, (www.dinnerparty.org) whose mission is to transform life after a loss from an isolating experience into one marked by community support, candid conversation, and forward movement using the age old practice of breaking bread. Since January 2014, The Dinner Party has grown from a few dozen people to more than 3,000, currently active at more than 275 tables in 100+ cities and towns worldwide, including a new community serving Raleigh. In 2019, the Dinner Party received its 10,000th application to join a table and applications to join or start a table have gone up more than 54%.
